This Sparkling Cranberry Rosemary Cocktail is a festive and refreshing drink perfect for holiday gatherings or any celebration. The cocktail combines the tartness of cranberry and lime juices with smooth vodka and Cointreau, topped with sparkling water for a light bubbly finish. A decorative sugar-rimmed glass and frosted rosemary sprig garnish elevate the presentation, making it both beautiful and delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cocktail:

  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 fl oz cranberry juice
  • 1 fl oz Cointreau
  • 1 fl oz vodka
  • Sparkling water, to top

For the Glass Rim:

  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • Lime juice, as needed

For the Garnish:

  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • Dehydrated orange slices

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sugar Rimmed Glasses: Pour 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar into a small shallow bowl and a small amount of lime juice into a second shallow bowl. Dip the rim of each glass first into the lime juice, allowing excess to drip off, then into the sugar to coat the rim evenly. This adds a decorative and flavorful sugar rim to the glasses.
  2. Frost the Rosemary Garnish: Rinse the rosemary sprig briefly under running water, then gently pat dry with a paper towel to remove excess water. While still slightly damp, roll or tap the rosemary sprig into 2 tablespoons of sugar until it is fully coated and has a frosted appearance. This creates a beautiful, festive garnish.
  3. Mix the Cocktail: Fill a cocktail shaker one third of the way with ice. Add 1 fl oz vodka, 1 fl oz Cointreau, 2 fl oz cranberry juice, and 2 tbsp lime juice. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 20 seconds until well chilled and combined.
  4. Assemble the Cocktail: Place ice spheres or cubes into each sugar-rimmed glass. Strain the shaken cocktail mixture evenly into the glasses. Top each glass with sparkling water to achieve your preferred level of fizz; use just a splash for a stronger drink or more for a lighter, bubbly cocktail.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Add a dehydrated orange slice to each cocktail and finish by placing the frosted rosemary sprig on top. Serve immediately and enjoy this festive and refreshing drink.

Notes

  • Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor impact.
  • The sparkling water amount can be adjusted to make the cocktail lighter or stronger.
  • The frosted rosemary garnish adds both aroma and a festive look.
  • Ice spheres can be used instead of cubes for slower melting and a cleaner presentation.
  • If unavailable, fresh rosemary can be substituted for garnish but skipping the frosting will alter appearance.
  • Dehydrated orange slices can be bought ready-made or homemade by slow drying orange slices in an oven.
