  • 5 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 5 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup (see note for substitute)
  • 7 cups Golden Grahams cereal
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows (for stirring in last)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Butter or grease a 9×13 inch baking pan thoroughly to prevent sticking and ensure easy removal of the bars.
  2. Melt Ingredients: In a large saucepan over low heat, combine 5 cups mini marshmallows, 1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips, 5 tablespoons butter, and 1/4 cup corn syrup. Stir gently with a rubber spatula until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Combine with Cereal: Remove the saucepan from heat and immediately stir in 7 cups Golden Grahams cereal along with the remaining 1 cup of mini marshmallows. The mixture will be very sticky at this stage.
  4. Press into Pan: Spoon the sticky batter into the prepared baking pan. Flatten the surface evenly using the back of a spatula, lightly greased to help smooth down the mixture without sticking.
  5. Set and Serve: Allow the bars to cool and harden at room temperature for about 60 minutes. Once set, cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • If you don’t have corn syrup, use 1/4 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of water as a substitute to achieve similar texture and sweetness.
  • Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature; refrigeration is not recommended as it can make the bars too hard to enjoy.
