Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lb ground chuck
  • 3 Tbsp sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp ranch dressing mix
  • ⅓ cup cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

For Serving

  • Hamburger buns
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato slices
  • Mustard
  • Mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground chuck, sour cream, ranch dressing mix, crumbled bacon, and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix together thoroughly using your hands or a sturdy spoon, being careful not to overmix to avoid tough burgers. Mix just until the ingredients are evenly distributed for consistent flavor.
  2. Form Patties: Shape the mixture into six evenly sized hamburger patties. To maintain uniform thickness and size for even cooking, use a burger press or the lid of a container. Press a small dimple into the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking. Wet your hands with cold water before forming patties to prevent sticking and keep them from being too thick so they cook properly.
  3. Grill Patties: Preheat your grill, grill pan, or skillet to medium heat. Cook the patties carefully over medium heat, flipping once, and avoid pressing down on them to retain moisture. Use a meat thermometer to check doneness: 130-135°F for medium rare, 140-145°F for medium, and 160°F for well done. Let the burgers rest for a few minutes after cooking to allow juices to redistribute.
  4. Serve: Assemble the burgers on toasted hamburger buns with toppings of your choice such as lettuce, tomato, mustard, and mayonnaise. Feel free to add pickles, onions, avocado, or other favorite condiments for a personalized touch.
