Ingredients

Scale

Sliders

  • 12 Kings Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 pound chicken tenders, cooked
  • ½ cup marinara sauce
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped

Butter Topping

  • ¼ cup (57g) butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 3 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to get it ready for baking the sliders.
  2. Prepare Rolls: Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally in half. Place the bottom halves of the rolls in a prepared baking dish, setting the tops aside carefully.
  3. Layer Ingredients: On top of the bottom buns, layer 6 slices of provolone cheese evenly. Next, arrange the cooked chicken tenders over the cheese, then spoon over the marinara sauce. Layer the sliced fresh mozzarella cheese and sprinkle the chopped fresh basil evenly over the top.
  4. Top the Sliders: Place the top halves of the rolls back onto the layered bottoms, completing the slider assembly.
  5. Prepare Butter Topping: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, sea salt, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and grated parmesan cheese. Mix well.
  6. Brush Topping: Generously brush the butter mixture over the tops of the assembled sliders to add flavor and help achieve a golden crust.
  7. Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the tops of the sliders to turn a golden brown and slightly crisp.
  9. Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven, slice as desired, and serve warm. Enjoy your delicious Chicken Parmesan Sliders!

Notes

  • You can use leftover cooked chicken tenders or rotisserie chicken as a time-saving option.
  • Ensure the sliders are covered during the initial baking to keep them moist and help the cheese melt evenly.
  • Fresh basil is recommended for the best flavor, but dried basil can be used in a pinch.
  • For a spicier kick, add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes to the marinara or butter topping.
  • These sliders can be prepared ahead of time, assembled, refrigerated, and baked just before serving.
