Salmon
- 4 salmon fillets (5–6 ounces each), skin-on or skinless
Boursin Cheese Mixture
- 1 Boursin cheese round (5.2 oz) – garlic & fine herbs flavor preferred
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter, divided
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
Seasoning & Garnish
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional garnish)
- Lemon wedges for serving
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking the salmon evenly.
- Prepare Baking Dish: Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Make Boursin Mixture: In a small bowl, combine Boursin cheese, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, and half of the olive oil or melted butter. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
- Prep Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry using paper towels to ensure the oil and seasoning adhere properly. Then, drizzle the remaining olive oil over the salmon and season with salt and black pepper.
- Arrange Salmon: Place the salmon fillets in the prepared baking dish, positioning skin side down if using skin-on fillets for crispier skin texture.
- Top with Cheese Mixture: Spoon the Boursin cheese mixture evenly over each salmon fillet, then gently spread it with the back of a spoon to cover the tops.
- Bake: Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, checking based on the thickness of each fillet. The salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Rest and Serve: Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for 2 minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side for added brightness.
Notes
- You can use either olive oil or melted butter based on your flavor preference.
- Adjust salt to taste, especially if the Boursin cheese is already salty.
- If you prefer skinless salmon, you can remove the skin before baking.
- Do not overbake the salmon to keep it moist and tender.
- Fresh parsley adds a bright color and subtle flavor but can be omitted if unavailable.
